„My preferred method of composition is to translate the moods of images and landscapes into music. For this album, instead of using my own visual impressions, I was inspired by the monumental work of art “Alpentriptychon” by the Swiss painter Giovanni Segantini. Just like Segantini’s paintings, Swiss folk songs also capture daily life in the Alps. Through selected Swiss folk songs I am connecting to my cultural heritage and carrying it into the world. The very simplicity of these songs is an invitation to reinterpret them across genre boundaries.“ – Raphael Walser
